The client’s objectives were to simultaneously carry out onsite destruction of data, utilising onsite HDD Shredding, with the collection of redundant enterprise equipment.

What did SAS Tech Services do?

Over a 3-day period, the SAS engineering team had to shred over 1500 HDD’s that had been removed from the redundant enterprise equipment. These required an asset checked equipment collection.

The shred was carried out using our Untha RS40HDD Shredder, engineers scanned and captured HDD serial numbers before they were shredded to create the Certificate of destruction for the customer.

Once the data sanitization was completed, the team then carried out a pick-pack collection of all redundant enterprise equipment. All items were scanned against a V-look up to ensure that only the specified equipment was collected, securely packed for transport, and then loaded onto collection vehicle. Pallets were then transported to customers site for processing.

To ensure that the shred and collection was carried out in the required 3-day period, The SAS operations team spent time going over the specific requirements with the customer. This allowed the team to ensure that the correct resource and engineers were allocated to this project.

The result was the shred and asset checked collection were carried out first time and in the customer specified time frame.
